Waiting

I found myself waiting on all kinds of things this weekend. Waiting is a tough thing to do! A lot of times we want things to happen right now, or we do not seek the Lord first and we just make our own decisions. I definitely have had my fair share of learning the hard way on how to wait. I have been in situations where I chose not to wait and it became a not-so-good choice. On the other hand, I have learned to wait on the Lord in making decisions and it was way better than I could have ever imagined. God has what is best in store for us whether He opens a door or closes a door. We can easily veer off in the wrong direction and find ourselves in trouble if we do not wait on the Lord. Waiting takes strength. I think we can easily lose heart at waiting on things in our life.

Psalm 27:14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord (NIV).

This verse is so encouraging to be strong in waiting for the Lord. It takes strength to wait and trust God with His timing. What if you are waiting because God wants you to rest and have some down time before something completely changes your life? What if God has you waiting because He wants to teach you something while you wait that you will need to have knowledge to take with you after the waiting? What if God has you waiting because He knows that something better is up ahead for you? Be strong while you are waiting for the Lord!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that waiting on You is better than making decisions on my own. I pray You will help me to be strong and not get discouraged while I wait for You. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
