The Rain Is Coming

This past week we have had some much-needed rain in our area. There is a pond down the road from where I live, that every time we drive by it my daughter goes, “Oh mama, look at the pond! The cows don’t have much water to swim in.” Since it has not rained that much, the water has receded tremendously in that pond. Our life can get this way too! We can be going, doing, going some more, trying, running low on energy and not seeing it getting any better like we are in a drought.
There was not any rain or dew for a few years during Elijah’s time in 1 Kings 17. Then in the third year, God told Elijah He was going to bring the rain in 1 Kings 18:1 – “After a long time, in the third year, the word of the Lord came to Elijah: “Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land” (NIV). And, God sent the rain!
There are times I just get in this funk and need God to put a spark back into my life – that raindrop that gets me strengthened again! A refill! I want to encourage you today, if you are going through a dry patch in your life, hang in there, the Lord will bring the rain. He can refill us to overflowing!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that You can refill us with Your living water! I pray that you would rain down on each of the lives who are reading this today and need you to bring them out of any drought that they may be in. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
