Recently, my daughter starting waking up at night because of bad dreams. And so, we began praying for her every night that God would surround her with His guardian angels. Our God is big and powerful, and very capable of helping us deal with what we are facing. Anytime she wakes up at night afraid, the first thing she says is, “Mama will you pray?” She knows that God has the power to guard us.

The king of Aram wanted to capture the prophet Elisha and so he sent men to go and get him. When the man of God, who was with Elisha, woke up, he saw that the city was completely surrounded. I love, love, love what Elisha said in 2 Kings 6:16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them” (NIV). Elisha then prayed for the man of God’s eyes to be open, and God opened his eyes so that he too could see that God’s army was with them.

I wonder how different we would be if we had eyes to see God’s army around us, what our life would be like? Would we still be hesitant on being obedient to God? Would we fear those voices in our heads that say “I am unqualified,” “or “You are never going to succeed” – those voices that put a stop to you taking that next step out in faith due to the fear of the what if's? Do not be afraid to take that next step knowing that those who are with you are more than those who are with your enemy! God has you surrounded! He will help you fight your battles! Believe it today!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for surrounding me with Your army to help me fight battles against my enemy. I pray that I will have eyes to see. I cannot do it alone. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
