Rejoicing

I had this song stuck in my head after playing Bible songs to my girls, “This Is the Day the Lord Has Made; Let Us Rejoice and Be Glad.” I remember singing this in Sunday school as a child. It comes from Psalm 118:24 “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (ESV). The Psalmist is rejoicing the goodness of God - He is my helper, my strength, my salvation, my defense, He has done mighty things!

What a great way to start off the month of November by praising Jesus for giving us a great hope and victory in our life that only comes from Him! We can rejoice as a Christian, because Jesus died on the cross for our sins! Without Jesus we would not be able to endure through the burdens of life – He is our helper through it all. He is the only One who can give us such great peace, joy and comfort in the midst of a trial. The only One who can deliver us up out of a battle against the enemy when he is attacking. He is always fighting for us! His love endures forever! Rejoice because there is a mighty God on the throne who cares deeply for us!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being my everything! I praise Your holy name! I am so grateful that You love us unconditionally and we get the opportunity to be a part of Your life! In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
