Jesus is Our Precious Cornerstone

As I ponder what a cornerstone is in accordance with the building of a structure, it is the first stone that is laid when building it and ensures the stability of the rest of the building. God sent us Jesus as the Chief Cornerstone, and not just any cornerstone, a precious cornerstone. He is the first stone we should lay in the building of our lives. Jesus is our precious cornerstone.

Isaiah 28:16 So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic (NIV).”

Jesus is a sure foundation! He is the way, the truth and the life! We don’t have to be afraid knowing we have Him as our cornerstone. If you do not have Jesus as your cornerstone, the foundation in which you are building on will crumble.

Everyday Jesus continues to build our life as we place Him first in our life. Everyday He is making us stronger. Our life should point towards Jesus, because it is Him who fist loved us. Everything we do should involve Him in our life. It has always been Jesus from the beginning of Scripture and it will always be Jesus.

These are all things I have been thinking about lately as Jesus continues to build my faith. We can often begin to build on things that will crumble because of our own independency.

Ask yourself today, what am I building on? Am I taking Jesus to work with me? Am I inviting Him into my home? Is He on my mind during the day? Have I spent some time with Him today? Is He the cornerstone of my life?

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being the foundation on which my life is built on. I pray that You will continue to be a strong foundation in my life. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
