It Is Time to Defeat Goliath!

Have there been some in things in your life that you have been standing on the sidelines, like David’s brothers, looking at a giant or possibly multiple giants thinking how am I supposed to defeat this? I know I have one in my life that I have been putting off because it looks impossible. I could hear God say, “It is time to defeat those giants.” It is time to look at that 9-foot giant and say I have had enough of you!

David was brave and had the courage to stand up to Goliath. The Bible says he had fought with lions and bears while he was taking care of sheep. But more importantly, He had God with him. He says in 1 Samuel 17:45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied (NIV).”

David included God in the battle and they saw victory that day! We need God to help us battle those giants in our life, otherwise we are going to be standing there in constant worry and fear. God can give us the courage, the wisdom, the tools, the peace, the direction – everything we need to take that giant out as we face it. It is too big for us to do on our own, but not for God (Mathew 19:26). You are a warrior!

Dear Heavenly Father, I am looking at a giant in my life that is too big for me to defeat, but not for you. I pray that you would equip me with everything that I need to bring this giant down. I thank you for helping me face things in my life that look impossible to me, but not to You! In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
