Ignite in Me Zeal

I know the enemy would love to get us discouraged by our waiting for victory, lose hope in God, find an excuse to skip church, or to quit reading the Bible so that we will lose our zeal for the Lord. You know why? Because the Lord moving in people’s lives is powerful! It changes things for the good in our lives, in our communities and in our nation. And what would the enemy like nothing more than to just steal that away. The last time I felt like this, I went immediately into prayer – “Lord Ignite in me Zeal.”

Paul wrote in Romans 12:11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord (NIV).

If you are feeling like you have lost some passion for the things of God, I encourage you to go into prayer, too! Sometimes our flame starts to go out and we just need to have it ignited so that it burns again!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me a passion that is so exciting to serve You and being a part of Your kingdom! Help me to keep the zeal. I never want to find myself growing away from serving You. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
