God Speaks!

When I sit down to spend time reading the Bible and talking to God, I often say, “Lord, may I hear You today?” I want to be able to hear what the Lord is trying to say to me. Usually, I will read a chapter or two and a verse or word will pop out to me, or I may not hear God at all that morning. Sometimes God speaks to me later in the day or at night. And, then, there are these sweet moments when God gives me a sign and I just look up and say, “thank You!”

One thing I know that stands true, as I seek Him, I will always find Him - Mathew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you (NIV).

Take a look at the story of Gideon. Judges 6:17 - Gideon replied, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me (NIV).”

Don’t you love it when God leaves you little signs that you know He is there and talking to you. And it is specific to you, where you absolutely know without a doubt that God has got you. I love it when God does that! Gideon just needed a sign like that. It is refreshing to know God hears you and wants to tell you something.

Keep seeking the Lord. You will always find Him. Listen for Him throughout the day. God speaks in different ways!

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for speaking to me and helping me to hear You! May I be on the lookout throughout the day to hear You! In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
