God is Doing a New Thing

I think change can be hard at times. Changes have been happening in our home and some days it leaves me feeling out of place, because I get so use to the same things. I would think the Israelites felt that same way as they were coming back to Jerusalem after 70 years in exile. God began doing a new thing in their life after so long. In Ezra chapter three they began to rebuild the temple, and as they laid the foundation, some praised the Lord and some wept because they knew what the temple looked like before.

God tells us in Isaiah 43:18-19 Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland (NIV).

There are things in our past that are not going to look the same as it did before. We have to embrace the new and give God the glory for what He is doing now even when it does not look or feel like it used to. God is always working all things together for our good, bringing us into new seasons, transforming our lives and taking us from glory to glory. As we walk in faith, God is doing a new thing.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for always being at work in my life! For the new that You want to do in my life. I pray You will help me to embrace the new things You are doing in this season and help me to keep my head up knowing it is always good when it is with You. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
