Having friends that want to see you succeed in life is a good thing to have. I am so thankful for my friends and family who are encouraging, uplifting and love the Lord. Sometimes I am around people who are downers all the time and if I am not careful, I too will start to become that way. This year a relative of mine messaged me early in the morning saying she woke up at 3 a.m. praying for me. I had never had someone say that to me before and I was moved beyond words by her compassion! It made me want to gravitate more towards her because that is a true sister in Christ. One who will fight for you and with you! That is who I want to be – a sister in Christ who fights with you!
Moses gave instruction on going to war in Deuteronomy 20. One of the things he said in 20:8 Then the officers shall add, “Is anyone afraid or fainthearted? Let him go home so that his fellow soldiers will not become disheartened too” (NIV).
If we have friendships who do not want to fight with us, then we may possibly lose the confidence to battle ourselves. We need friendships that want to conquer battles in life! Praying for someone is a perfect example of helping your friend in their battle! There are times we go through difficult seasons, but an encouraging friend will help motivate you to persevere through that season of life. And a good friend will also root you on in your success, because you are winning the battle!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for friendships! Lead me today to speak words that encourage, uplift, pray for and want what is best for others. Help me to be that friend today! In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
If you are needing prayer today. Leave a message in the comments or DM me and I will pray for you!
