Camping Out!

We go “glamping” in our house, we do not actually do the tent camping anymore. So, I can imagine that the Israelites were probably ready for something more permanent to call home after being in the wilderness for so long. The best part about their journey is they had God with them. They did not have to experience the journey alone. God offers so much goodness - advice, strength, healing, friendship, hope, encouragement, provision, truth and so much more so that we can keep moving forward. If I am struggling with being overwhelmed and go to Him, He gives peace. I am not camped out in that anxiety for very long. God has a purpose for each of us and blessing in store for our life that He does not want us to stay camped out in things like fear, frustration, disappointment or being alone.
The Israelites had places they camped out at along the way as they headed toward the promised land that God had for them. Right before the Israelites were going to cross over the Jordan River and take possession of the land flowing with milk and honey, God gave them instruction on moving forward including Numbers 33:53 Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess (NIV). They could have stayed camped out in the wilderness (and some of them did) or chose to keep moving forward with God and receive the blessing that God wanted to give to them.
This is why I love journaling, because it is one of the many ways I can hear God speak. It may be something He wants to teach, a wound that He wants to heal, directions He wants to give, a place of rest and peace, or even to renew and strengthen the spirit. God wants to be involved in our life 100 percent of the time. Do life with God so that you can overcome the areas you are camped out in. He is able to do more for us than we can imagine! We need Him so we do not stay camped out in the wilderness!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for helping me to be an overcomer! Help me to come to you in any season of life knowing that you want to help me grow and move forward. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
What area of your life are you camped out in?
