A Special Relationship Because of Jesus

I cut my devotional time short a couple days over the last week and I find my time with the Lord important in my daily walk with Him, because it’s a special relationship that I have with Him.

As I read about the Israelites coming back home from being in exile and getting settled back in the Land, all I could think about is how great God’s love is for His people. How it is in His nature to leave the 99 to go after the one that is lost. They were sinful, which sent them into exile, and God brings them back out of exile. It made God happy that they were aligning their life with His, He did not want them to weep that day because they realized just how sinful they were, but to be strengthened by His joy.

Nehemiah 8:10 - Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength (NIV).”

Fast forward to today – Good Friday. God chose you! He sent His son, Jesus to die on a cross for our sins (John 3:16). Jesus made a way so we could have a relationship with Him. He is the only way we can have life without condemnation.

Aligning our life with God and forming an intimate relationship with Him is the best thing we could do. That is where we find joy – a divine joy – and we are strengthened by that. I know that I cannot have or do life without my Savior – it would be a dark place without Him. Keep spending time with Him daily, building a relationship that is beyond special.

As you celebrate Easter, I hope you can celebrate with joy the relationship you have with Jesus. And if you don’t have that relationship, I hope you will start that relationship right now by accepting Jesus into your heart and experiencing His joy too. It is truly the best! Thank You, Jesus for what You did for us.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unfailing love and loving us so much that You sent Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. I pray our relationship continues to grow into this beautiful relationship. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
